National Listening Meetings

National Listening Meetings to hear the Views of Service Users, Family Members and Carers on how Mental Health Services should be delivered into the future:

For the attention of Voluntary Organisations and Consumer Panels who are involved in Mental Health Services in Ireland:

Paddy McGowan, interim Head of Service User, Family Member and Carer Engagement on the HSE National Mental Health Management Team is planning a series of nationwide meetings to hear directly from people who have experience of the mental health services, their family, friends, and/or carers or anybody who has an interest in this area. These meetings will allow people who use mental health services and their family/friend/carers to share their views on how mental health services should be developed and delivered.

Paddy has a long and distinguished history as a campaigner on mental health issues. He has personal experience of the mental health services, both as a service user and as a carer. He has also been involved in advocacy around issues both nationally and internationally for many years. We are asking for your help to tell people who use mental health services or anyone who has an interest in mental health services about these meetings

The meetings will take place in a number of locations around Ireland from the 24th of February until early April. The Sligo/Leitrim meeting will take place on Tuesday 18th March at 7.30pm in the Sligo Southern Hotel. Please spread the word to any interested parties.
