ACCORD is a nationwide agency supporting marriage and relationships.Their aim is to help couples prepare for, achieve and sustain their marriage and family relationships by offering support and assist them in times of difficulty or crisis.

Al-Anon offers understanding and support for families and friends of problem drinkers in an anonymous environment, whether the alcoholic is still drinking or not. At Al-Anon group meetings, members receive comfort and understanding and learn to cope with their problems through the exchange of experience, strength and hope..

The service offers a free, confidential and independent mediation service for families in conflict. The service works mainly with couples who are separating or divorcing but also assist with other family disputes. Meditation is voluntary. Mediators work with people and try and reach mutually acceptable outcomes.

The F.A.D.E project (Foroige’s Alcohol & Drug Education Project) is managed by Foroige, National Youth Development Organisation and funded by the North West Regional Drugs Task Force.  The project aims to support and develop the delivery of high quality drugs education programmes for young people and parents in order to promote the health and well being of young people in County Leitrim.  The project works with all young people aged between 10 – 17yrs in their community focusing on empowering young people to make positive and healthy life choices.

The HSE National Counselling Service (NCS) is a professional, confidential counselling and psychotherapy service available free of charge in all regions of the Health Services Executive. Our client group are adults who have experienced trauma and abuse in childhood with priority given to adult survivors of institutional abuse in Ireland.

Leitrim Calling is a free, friendly, confidential telephone call service reaching out to older and vulnerable persons in our communities. They have recently expanded their service to also include people of any age, who are feeling lonely or facing difficult challenges in their lives, both in the short term or longer term.

They operate in Drumshanbo Co. Leitrim. Clients receive a phonecall 3 mornings per week plus a call through our Friday evening slot. They also cover all Bank Holidays and throughout the Christmas period. They check on our client’s wellbeing, and if alerted to the fact that they require further supports, they work towards directing them to the appropriate service providers.

The clients provide 2 contacts of their choice. Therefore, if for any reason Leitrim Calling are unsuccessful in reaching a client on a given day, they ring the contact to ensure the client is well. No client is left unaccounted for. The service is primarily operated through a team of highly trained volunteers and more volunteers are currently being sourced to accommodate the rise in number of clients availing of the service.

The aim of Merville Youth and Community centre is to promote inclusive community participation in the economic, social and cultural development of the Merville and Maugheraboy Areas of Sligo town.

This service aims to improve access for young people to mental health and well-being services. A G.P. is available one day per week, on a Monday to assist young people with any emotional or mental health concerns. The Doctor may do some work with the young person, or link them in with other C.R.I.B or community services or in some circumstances seek to access specialist health services for them. It will not take over from a young person’s own G.P, but rather offers a specific service supportive of their mental health and well- being. This service will be free of charge.

There is also access to free counselling and youth workers available in the CRIB on Monday- Friday.

Sligo Volunteer Centre’s aim is to support and promote voluntary activity around County Sligo. They provide information and advice to those who are interested in volunteering as well as offering support around best practice to volunteer involving organizations.

Our youth group is for young LGBT people aged 14 – 23 years old. It’s a safe space to come in and chill out, get to know some people and have a chat about anything that’s on your mind.

The South Leitrim Neighbourhood Youth Project is funded through Tusla as a community based family support project working primarily with young people aged 10 – 18 years who are at risk of or experiencing personal, social, educational and family difficulties, however the project is open to all young people. Based in and serving Carrick-on-Shannon this project has an outreach brief for the south Leitrim area including Mohill, Carrigallen, Ballinamore, Drumshanbo, Cloone/Aughavas and rural areas in between. The NYP provides one to one and group programmes meeting the needs of young people from a strengths based perspective.
