Al-Anon offers understanding and support for families and friends of problem drinkers in an anonymous environment, whether the alcoholic is still drinking or not. At Al-Anon group meetings, members receive comfort and understanding and learn to cope with their problems through the exchange of experience, strength and hope..

The Dochas Clubhouse is a resource for individuals experiencing mental ill health. It dtrives to enable its members to access employment, educational and social opportunities in the community, while providing a safe environment to assist members in their recovery.

GROW is a mental health organization which helps people who have suffered or are suffering from mental health problems. Members are helped to recover from all forms of mental breakdown, or indeed to prevent such happening.

The South Leitrim Neighbourhood Youth Project is funded through Tusla as a community based family support project working primarily with young people aged 10 – 18 years who are at risk of or experiencing personal, social, educational and family difficulties, however the project is open to all young people. Based in and serving Carrick-on-Shannon this project has an outreach brief for the south Leitrim area including Mohill, Carrigallen, Ballinamore, Drumshanbo, Cloone/Aughavas and rural areas in between. The NYP provides one to one and group programmes meeting the needs of young people from a strengths based perspective.

It is a state-funded, free, confidential, and independent service for people with debt and money management problems.

DVAS provide a range of services to women who are experiencing domestic violence and abuse from intimate partners and other adult family members. The core purpose of our service is to support women to access safety for themselves and their children. DVAS have a helpline and also provide support, information and advocacy through a one to one support service.

The Girls’ Brigade is an International Uniformed Youth Organisation for girls of all ages, denominations, backgrounds and abilities.The Girls’ Brigade Ireland operates in 33 companies around the country, offering a varied programme of activities designed to educate, challenge and inspire young people in a safe, fun and sociable environment.

NWRDTF is responsible for tackling the issues associated with illicit drug use and underage drinking in the North West region with reference to the NDS pillars; Supply Reduction, Education and Prevention, Treatment, Rehabilitation and Research. Their aim is ‘’to reduce the negative impact of drug misuse and underage drinking upon the individual and society in the region through coordinated and targeted actions at regional and local levels.

North Connuaght Youth Service Sligo works with and for 7 – 18 years across the county in partnership with young people, volunteers and other organisations. Ballymote FRC aim is to offer everyone, particularly those who experience disadvantage and marginalization, the opportunity to improve the functioning of the family unit and ultimately to fully realize their own potential through total involvement in the work and programmes or the centre.

CURA is a voluntary organization, which offers support and help to those who are faced with a crisis pregnancy. Volunteers are trained to offer non-directive counseling. They will not judge you or tell you what you should do and will help you explore the options open to you in decoding what to do about your pregnancy.

North West Simon Community was formed in June 2005 with a vision of every person in the North West Region having a place that they can call home

This service aims to improve access for young people to mental health and well-being services. A G.P. is available one day per week, on a Monday to assist young people with any emotional or mental health concerns. The Doctor may do some work with the young person, or link them in with other C.R.I.B or community services or in some circumstances seek to access specialist health services for them. It will not take over from a young person’s own G.P, but rather offers a specific service supportive of their mental health and well- being. This service will be free of charge.

There is also access to free counselling and youth workers available in the CRIB on Monday- Friday.

The aim of the centre is to provide a facility offering opportunities for personal, social, cultural and educational development; and which responds to diverse needs. They also offer opportunities for recreation and play in a safe and healthy environment and to offer the support necessary to help improve the quality of life, especially for those most disadvantaged and marginalized.

St Vincent de Paul provides support and friendship to families, elderly and individuals combating social isolation and offering a support service. They provide information and support on housing and hostel accommodation. When members call, you can expect kindness, courtesy and respect and acceptance of you as a person.

MCR Community Centre aims is to initiate and support measures to improve the social, cultural and economic development of the community area in partnership and co-operation with various statutory and voluntary agencies and bodies.

The centre works to help individuals and families improve the quality of their lives. The centre is managed by a board of volunteers from the local community and has a small staff. Their focus is to help local people achieve what they themselves see as priorities for their lives.

Leitrim Calling is a free, friendly, confidential telephone call service reaching out to older and vulnerable persons in our communities. They have recently expanded their service to also include people of any age, who are feeling lonely or facing difficult challenges in their lives, both in the short term or longer term.

They operate in Drumshanbo Co. Leitrim. Clients receive a phonecall 3 mornings per week plus a call through our Friday evening slot. They also cover all Bank Holidays and throughout the Christmas period. They check on our client’s wellbeing, and if alerted to the fact that they require further supports, they work towards directing them to the appropriate service providers.

The clients provide 2 contacts of their choice. Therefore, if for any reason Leitrim Calling are unsuccessful in reaching a client on a given day, they ring the contact to ensure the client is well. No client is left unaccounted for. The service is primarily operated through a team of highly trained volunteers and more volunteers are currently being sourced to accommodate the rise in number of clients availing of the service.

The Grasp Life Foundation provide outreach counselling services in Ballyshannon Co Donegal every Tuesday from 10 until 5pm.We provide the same service in Enniscrone Co Sligo every Thursday from 10 until 5pm. Grasp Life further provides a 24×7 crisis helpline [0874188053] and bereavement support meeting in St Michaels Sligo on the first Thursday night of each month at 8pm.Grasp Life go into schools and workplaces when requested to speak on the topics of suicide ,depression and mental health issues.

ACCORD is a nationwide agency supporting marriage and relationships.Their aim is to help couples prepare for, achieve and sustain their marriage and family relationships by offering support and assist them in times of difficulty or crisis.

Samaritans offers support and some one to talk to through a variety of mediums: telephone, email, letter and face-to-face, and also works in the local community, workplaces, schools and prisons.

Foróige Clubs are a safe place for young people to hang out, meet new friends and have a voice! What makes a Foróige club different to average youth clubs is that it is run by the young people themselves. This allows them to believe in themselves, make decisions and practice leadership.

The service offers a free, confidential and independent mediation service for families in conflict. The service works mainly with couples who are separating or divorcing but also assist with other family disputes. Meditation is voluntary. Mediators work with people and try and reach mutually acceptable outcomes.

The Shack Youth Cafe is a Drop In centre for young people of post primary age. Run by a committee made up entirely of volunteers the Shack offers a safe environment for young people to hang out, meet their friends and have some fun.

This service provides counselling/therapy to individuals and families in cases of complicated grief i.e. Abuse, sexual abusive and trauma.

The centre offers support and practical help to people with cancer, their families, friends and bereaved in total confidentiality. Drop in for a cup of tea, meet someone who has had cancer diagnosis and is still living life to the full. Sharing experiences widens horizons and opens out new and better ways to deal with difficulties. There is no need to try and solve them alone

The Sligo Northside Community Partnership aims to make a positive difference in the lives of people in the North Ward, primarily through the provision of different courses and activities, and also to provide a vibrant focus for all sectors of the community with emphasis on their social economic and educational needs.

The service provides a safe space for survivors of child sexual abuse, rape, sexual assault and sexual harassment. A place where adults and young people can explore and access help with issues resulting from their experiences. They believe that everyone has the inner capacity and resources to move towards change and well-being. The service is free and confidential.

The HSE National Counselling Service (NCS) is a professional, confidential counselling and psychotherapy service available free of charge in all regions of the Health Services Executive. Our client group are adults who have experienced trauma and abuse in childhood with priority given to adult survivors of institutional abuse in Ireland.

Aims: To identify the needs of parents and children in the proposed area. Specific attention given to those families where child protection concerns exist, to families with on-going health and welfare problems and/or families in once off crisis situations. To target the most disadvantaged and vulnerable families in the area specifically focusing on improving parenting skills and child-parent relationships. To work in partnership with other agencies, key groups and individuals in the community and with families to develop programmes of family support services. To provide a direct service through a structured package of care, intervention, support and counselling to the targeted families and children, and to families within the wider community.
