Exercise is one of the most commonly recognised ways to better wellbeing according to recent research. To encourage people to participate and get active, Sligo Sport and Recreation Partnership have organised a variety of fun and social activities to celebrate World Mental Health Week 2015.
In association with Leitrim County Council Library Service and Healthy Ireland, Mind Your Mental Health workshops will be held throughout the Spring. Mind Your Mental Health is a mental health awareness workshop developed by Mental Health Ireland. It offers participants the opportunity to reflect on this important aspect of their lives and to learn different ways to enhance their own mental health and wellbeing.
Aware Sligo are currently recruiting volunteer facilitators. Aware is a national charity, that undertakes to create a society, where people affected by stress, depression, Bi-polar and other mood disorders are understood , supported, free from stigma and are encouraged to access appropriate therapies. Chapters Cafe and Rennafix have been in cahoots this Autumn to bring you 3 fun and chilled out Friday evenings in the run up to Christmas. On each of the Friday evenings the cafe will be open late from 6-10pm with free access to activities upstairs so you can come and go as you please.
